Tiger Hills Hockey League Import Rule
A non-import is defined using the following criteria:
1 - Any player whose current home address is within 30 KMs of their home arena, excluding any Brandon addresses.
2 - Any player who played minor hockey or high school hockey in their home arena. This is to include shared community teams. Ex. Carberry-Glenboro or Killarney-Wawanesa High School Teams.
3 - Any player who has played more than 5 consecutive years with their current team. The 2020-2021 season will not be included in this because of the cancelled season.
4 – 2 & 3 may be reviewed by the League Executive if necessary. The Executive can rule a player ineligible even if they satisfy all requirements in Item 2 & 3. A team may appeal this ruling to the league governing body for the league appeal fee of $200.
5 - Goalies are exempt from being imports
Imports will be in 2 classes. Import A’s and Import B’s. A team is allowed a total of 6 imports. A team is, however, limited to 2 Import A’s in a single season.
Import A
Any player who played any games at the Major Junior(WHL etc), CIS, NCAA(Div I) or any professional hockey league levels.
Import B
Any player who played any games at the Jr A(MJHL etc), Jr B(KJHL etc), NCAA(Div II or III), ACHA Club Hockey or MMJHL levels.
Any teams in violation of the outlined rule will forfeit any games played while in violation. With the forfeit they will also forfeit their bond. The teams bond will have to be replaced and their roster corrected in accordance with league regulations before their next league game.
